হজরত ঈসা (আলাইহিস সালাম)Prophet Isa (peace be upon him)

মারইয়াম (আ.) ছিলেন পবিত্র ও ইবাদতগুজার এক নারী। ফেরেশতারা তাঁকে বলেছিলেন, “হে মারইয়াম, আল্লাহ তোমাকে মনোনীত করেছেন, পবিত্র করেছেন এবং বিশ্বের নারীদের ওপর তোমাকে বেছে নিয়েছেন।” একদিন তিনি পরিবার থেকে আলাদা হয়ে পূর্ব দিকের এক নিরিবিলি জায়গায় গেলেন।

Maryam (peace be upon her) was a pure and devoted woman. The angels told her, “O Maryam, Allah has chosen you, purified you and chosen you above the women of the world.” One day she withdrew from her family to a quiet place towards the east.

সেখানে আল্লাহ তাঁর কাছে ফেরেশতা জিবরাইল (আ.)-কে পাঠালেন, পূর্ণ মানুষের রূপে। মারইয়াম (আ.) ভয় পেয়ে বললেন, “আমি তোমার থেকে দয়াময় আল্লাহর আশ্রয় চাই।” ফেরেশতা বললেন, “আমি তোমার রবের পাঠানো দূত। তোমাকে একটি পবিত্র পুত্রসন্তান দান করার জন্য এসেছি।” মারইয়াম (আ.) অবাক হয়ে বললেন, “কীভাবে আমার সন্তান হবে? কোনো পুরুষ তো আমাকে স্পর্শ করেনি।” ফেরেশতা বললেন, “এভাবেই হবে। তোমার রব বলেছেন, এটা আমার জন্য সহজ। আমি তাকে মানুষের জন্য নিদর্শন ও আমার রহমত বানাব।”

There Allah sent the angel Jibril (peace be upon him) to her in the form of a man. Frightened, Maryam said, “I seek refuge from you in the Most Merciful.” The angel said, “I am only a messenger from your Lord, sent to give you a pure son.” Amazed, Maryam asked, “How can I have a son when no man has touched me?” The angel said, “So it will be. Your Lord says, ‘It is easy for Me. We will make him a sign for people and a mercy from Us.’”

সময় হলে প্রসবব্যথা মারইয়াম (আ.)-কে নিয়ে গেল এক খেজুরগাছের কাছে। তিনি খুব কষ্ট ও দুশ্চিন্তায় ছিলেন। তখন নিচ থেকে ডাক এল, “দুঃখ কোরো না। তোমার রব তোমার নিচে একটি ঝরনা বইয়ে দিয়েছেন। খেজুরগাছের কাণ্ড ধরে নিজের দিকে নাড়া দাও, তোমার ওপর তাজা পাকা খেজুর ঝরে পড়বে। খাও, পান করো, আর চোখ জুড়াও।” এভাবে জন্ম নিলেন ঈসা (আ.)।

When the time came, the pains of childbirth led Maryam to the trunk of a date palm. She was in great pain and worry. Then a voice called from below her: “Do not grieve. Your Lord has made a stream flow beneath you. Shake the trunk of the palm towards you, and fresh ripe dates will fall upon you. Eat, drink and be comforted.” And so Isa (peace be upon him) was born.

মারইয়াম (আ.) শিশুকে কোলে নিয়ে নিজের লোকদের কাছে ফিরলেন। লোকেরা বিস্মিত হয়ে নানা কথা বলতে লাগল। মারইয়াম (আ.) কিছু না বলে শিশুর দিকে ইশারা করলেন। লোকেরা বলল, “দোলনার শিশুর সঙ্গে আমরা কীভাবে কথা বলব?” তখনই শিশু ঈসা (আ.) কথা বলে উঠলেন, “আমি আল্লাহর বান্দা। তিনি আমাকে কিতাব দিয়েছেন এবং নবী বানিয়েছেন। আমি যেখানেই থাকি, তিনি আমাকে বরকতময় করেছেন। যতদিন বেঁচে থাকি, নামাজ ও জাকাতের নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন, আর মায়ের প্রতি সদয় করেছেন। তিনি আমাকে অহংকারী ও হতভাগা করেননি।”

Maryam carried the baby back to her people. They were astonished and said many things. Maryam said nothing but pointed to the baby. They said, “How can we speak to a baby in the cradle?” At that moment baby Isa spoke: “I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Book and made me a prophet. He has made me blessed wherever I am, commanded me to pray and give charity as long as I live, and made me kind to my mother. He has not made me proud or wretched.”

ঈসা (আ.) বড় হলেন। আল্লাহ তাঁকে দিলেন কিতাব ইনজিল আর প্রজ্ঞা। তিনি তাওরাতের সত্যতা স্বীকার করতেন। আল্লাহর অনুমতিতে তিনি অনেক নিদর্শন দেখালেন—মাটি দিয়ে পাখির আকৃতি বানিয়ে তাতে ফুঁ দিলে আল্লাহর অনুমতিতে তা জীবন্ত পাখি হয়ে উড়ে যেত। আল্লাহর অনুমতিতে তিনি জন্মান্ধ ও কুষ্ঠরোগীকে সুস্থ করতেন, মৃতকে জীবিত করতেন, আর মানুষ ঘরে কী খায় ও কী জমিয়ে রাখে, তা বলে দিতেন।

Isa grew up. Allah gave him the scripture called the Injil, and wisdom. He confirmed the truth of the Torah. By Allah's permission he showed many signs: he shaped a bird from clay and breathed into it, and by Allah's permission it became a living bird and flew away. By Allah's permission he healed those born blind and those with leprosy, brought the dead back to life, and told people what they ate and stored in their homes.

তিনি মানুষকে ডেকে বলতেন, “নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ আমার রব এবং তোমাদেরও রব। তাই তাঁরই ইবাদত করো। এটাই সরল পথ।” তিনি তাঁর পরে আসা এক রাসুলের সুসংবাদও দিয়েছিলেন, যাঁর নাম হবে আহমাদ—আমাদের প্রিয় নবী মুহাম্মাদ ﷺ।

He called people, saying, “Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is the straight path.” He also gave the good news of a messenger who would come after him, whose name would be Ahmad: our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

অনেকে তাঁর কথা মানল না। তখন ঈসা (আ.) জিজ্ঞেস করলেন, “আল্লাহর পথে কে আমার সাহায্যকারী হবে?” তাঁর একদল একনিষ্ঠ সঙ্গী, যাঁদের বলা হয় হাওয়ারি, বললেন, “আমরাই আল্লাহর সাহায্যকারী। আমরা আল্লাহর ওপর ঈমান এনেছি। আপনি সাক্ষী থাকুন, আমরা আল্লাহর অনুগত।” একবার হাওয়ারিরা আসমান থেকে খাবারভরা দস্তরখান চাইলেন। ঈসা (আ.) দোয়া করলেন, আর আল্লাহ বললেন, তিনি তা নাজিল করবেন।

Many did not accept his message. Then Isa asked, “Who will be my helpers for Allah?” His devoted companions, called the Hawariyyun (disciples), said, “We are Allah's helpers. We believe in Allah. Bear witness that we submit to Him.” Once the disciples asked for a table spread with food to be sent down from heaven. Isa prayed, and Allah said He would send it down.

যারা সত্যকে অস্বীকার করল, তারা ঈসা (আ.)-এর বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করল। কিন্তু আল্লাহও কৌশল করলেন, আর আল্লাহই শ্রেষ্ঠ কৌশলী। কুরআনে আছে, তারা তাঁকে হত্যা করতে পারেনি, ক্রুশেও দিতে পারেনি; বরং আল্লাহ তাঁকে নিজের কাছে তুলে নিয়েছেন। আল্লাহ মহাপরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময়।

Those who rejected the truth plotted against Isa. But Allah also planned, and Allah is the best of planners. The Qur'an tells us that they did not kill him and did not crucify him; rather, Allah raised him up to Himself. Allah is Almighty, All-Wise.

আল্লাহ বলেছেন, তাঁর কাছে ঈসা (আ.)-এর দৃষ্টান্ত আদম (আ.)-এর মতো—তিনি আদমকে মাটি থেকে সৃষ্টি করে বলেছিলেন ‘হও’, আর তিনি হয়ে গিয়েছিলেন। ঈসা (আ.) ছিলেন আল্লাহর বান্দা ও রাসুল, বিনয়ী আর মায়ের প্রতি কোমল। তাঁর জীবন আমাদের শেখায়—এক আল্লাহর ওপর ঈমান রাখা, সত্যের কথা বলা, আর সবসময় বিনয়ী থাকা।

Allah says that in His sight the example of Isa is like that of Adam: He created Adam from dust and said “Be”, and he was. Isa was Allah's servant and messenger, humble and gentle towards his mother. His life teaches us to believe in the One God, to speak the truth and always to stay humble.
