ইয়াকুব (আ.) ছিলেন আল্লাহর নবী—নবী ইসহাক (আ.)-এর পুত্র, আর ইব্রাহিম (আ.)-এর নাতি। তাঁর ছিল অনেকগুলো ছেলে। তাঁদের মধ্যে ছোট্ট ইউসুফ (আ.) আর তাঁর ছোট ভাইকে তিনি বিশেষভাবে স্নেহ করতেন। তাঁদের ঘরের চারপাশে ছিল খোলা প্রান্তর আর চরে বেড়ানো পশুর পাল।
Yaqub (AS) was a prophet of Allah—the son of the Prophet Ishaq (AS) and the grandson of Ibrahim (AS). He had many sons. Among them, he especially cherished young Yusuf (AS) and Yusuf’s younger brother. Around their home stretched open country, with flocks of animals grazing.
এক রাতে ছোট্ট ইউসুফ (আ.) একটি আশ্চর্য স্বপ্ন দেখলেন। আকাশে ঝিকমিক করছে এগারোটি তারা, আর সঙ্গে সূর্য ও চাঁদ—আর তারা সবাই যেন তাঁকে সিজদা করছে!
One night, young Yusuf (AS) saw an amazing dream. Eleven stars were twinkling in the sky, together with the sun and the moon—and they were all bowing down to him!
ভোর হতেই ইউসুফ (আ.) বাবার কাছে ছুটে গেলেন। বললেন, “আব্বা, আমি স্বপ্নে দেখেছি এগারোটি তারা, সূর্য আর চাঁদ—দেখলাম তারা আমাকে সিজদা করছে।”
As soon as morning came, Yusuf (AS) hurried to his father. “O my father,” he said, “I saw eleven stars, and the sun and the moon—I saw them bowing down to me.”
ইয়াকুব (আ.) মন দিয়ে শুনলেন। তিনি বুঝলেন, এই স্বপ্নের বিশেষ তাৎপর্য আছে। ভালোবাসা মাখা গলায় তিনি সাবধান করলেন, “প্রিয় বাছা, তোমার এই স্বপ্নের কথা তোমার ভাইদের কাছে বলো না। তাহলে তারা তোমার বিরুদ্ধে কোনো ষড়যন্ত্র করতে পারে। নিশ্চয়ই শয়তান মানুষের প্রকাশ্য শত্রু।”
Yaqub (AS) listened carefully. He understood that the dream had a special meaning. In a voice full of love, he warned, “My dear son, do not tell your brothers about this dream, or they may plot against you. Shaytan is truly a clear enemy to people.”
তারপর ইয়াকুব (আ.) আরও বললেন, “এভাবেই তোমার রব তোমাকে বেছে নেবেন, তোমাকে স্বপ্ন ও ঘটনার ব্যাখ্যা শেখাবেন। আর তোমার ওপর ও ইয়াকুবের পরিবারের ওপর তাঁর অনুগ্রহ পূর্ণ করবেন, যেমন তিনি আগে পূর্ণ করেছিলেন তোমার পূর্বপুরুষ ইব্রাহিম ও ইসহাকের ওপর।”
Then Yaqub (AS) went on, “This is how your Lord will choose you and teach you the meaning of dreams and events. He will complete His blessing upon you and upon the family of Yaqub, just as He completed it before upon your forefathers, Ibrahim and Ishaq.”
বাবার পরামর্শ কত জরুরি ছিল, তা পরে বোঝা গেল। বড় ভাইয়েরা নিজেদের মধ্যে বলাবলি করত, “ইউসুফ আর তার ভাই আমাদের চেয়ে বাবার কাছে বেশি প্রিয়।” তাদের মনে হিংসা জমছিল।
Later it became clear how important his father’s advice was. The older brothers would say to one another, “Yusuf and his brother are dearer to our father than we are.” Jealousy was growing in their hearts.
ইউসুফ (আ.) তখনো জানতেন না, সামনে তাঁর জীবনে কত পরীক্ষা আর উত্থান-পতন আসবে। কিন্তু অনেক বছর পরে, আল্লাহর ইচ্ছায়, সেই স্বপ্ন সত্যি হয়েছিল। তখন তিনি বলেছিলেন, “আব্বা, এটিই আমার সেই আগের স্বপ্নের ব্যাখ্যা; আমার রব একে সত্য করেছেন।” সেই ছোট্ট স্বপ্নই ছিল এক দীর্ঘ কাহিনির শুরু।
Yusuf (AS) did not yet know how many trials, ups and downs lay ahead in his life. But many years later, by Allah’s will, the dream came true. Then he said, “O my father, this is the meaning of my dream from long ago; my Lord has made it come true.” That small dream had been the start of a long story.
সুন্দর স্বপ্ন বা আল্লাহর দেওয়া কোনো গুণ পেলে অহংকার নয়, কৃতজ্ঞ থাকতে হয়। আর বিশ্বস্ত বড়দের পরামর্শ মেনে কোন কথা কখন, কার সঙ্গে ভাগ করতে হবে, তা বুঝে চলাও প্রজ্ঞার অংশ।
When Allah gives us a beautiful dream or a special gift, we should be grateful, not proud. And listening to trusted elders about what to share, when, and with whom is part of being wise.
